The distributor partnered with Roundtable Learning to create a series of training videos, which Roundtable developed into measurable eLearning courses for the distributor’s warehouse associates.
Our video team used different video products and techniques to first capture the Vertique system in an introductory video, which demonstrates an almost cinematic overview of the system.
Working with the distributor’s SMEs, our video team created two to three additional videos for each position or job role. We were able to capture how the system worked and what would be required of a warehouse associate in each Vertique position. Prior to these videos, only the distributor’s managers held the keys to the knowledge necessary to operate Vertique.
Prior to the video training program, new warehouse associates didn’t understand what their jobs would entail beyond operating a large, computerized, system. After completing the training videos, warehouse associates say that they understand what their jobs will entail and are prepared to perform their job function in the different areas of Vertique.
Since the implementation of the training courses, the distributor’s workers’ compensation claims have been reduced by 50 percent. The time that it takes an associate to become productive on the warehouse floor was reduced by 33 percent, and the cost of training has been reduced by 12.5 percent.
